Use Hushtag on iPhone with the ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini apps
The Chrome extension hushes as you paste on a computer. On iPhone, the free Hushtag web app does the same job in a few taps, and you can keep it on your home screen like any other app.
Put Hushtag on your home screen
- Open hushtagprivacy.com/app in Safari.
- Tap the Share button. On newer iPhones it's inside the ••• menu next to the address bar.
- Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
Hushtag now opens full screen from its own icon. It runs entirely on your phone, so it works even with no signal, and nothing you paste is sent anywhere, including to us.
Hush, ask, restore
- Hush. Copy the text you want help with: a message, a lab result, an email. Open Hushtag, tap Edit text and paste. Names, phone numbers, emails, ID and account numbers turn into hashtags like #PERSON_1.
- Ask. Check the highlighted items, tap Copy masked text, and paste it into the ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini app with your question.
- Restore. Copy the AI's answer, switch back to Hushtag and paste it into Step 3. The hashtags turn back into the real names and numbers, on your screen only.
Text from Dr. Priya Shah: your results are in, call (415) 555-0132

Good to know
- Keep Hushtag open in the background while you chat, so the restore step knows which hashtag is which. Members can save a locked key to restore an answer days later.
- Hushtag hides who, not what. Your question still goes to the AI, just without the names and numbers attached.
- Detection is a safety net, not a guarantee. Glance at the highlights before you paste.
On a computer too?
The Chrome extension hushes automatically as you paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and 5 more, in Chrome, Edge and Brave. From $4 a month, and members get the iPhone app free when it launches.
